  • Laser Treatment Add-ons: Botox & Dysport
Posted on Saturday, October 17th, 2009 in Botox From Canada – Comments: (0)
Botox & Dysport are now competitors at almost any medical spa or skin clinic that offers laser treatments. Why?Botox is available from nearly all skin clinics and medical spas. It’s a purified protein produced by the Clostridium Botulinum Bacterium which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause glabellar lines (frown lines) that form between the brows. The process is non-surgical, physician administered treatment used for patients from ages 18-65. Botox can last up to 6 months but results may vary and you many need treatments sooner.A medical consultation from the physician overseeing the laser clinic will be done prior to receiving treatment which will include a review of allergies, medications and possible contraindications. This will also be the time the patient’s expectations will be set about the outcome of the treatment. Before an injection of Botox or Dysport, a cold pack or an anesthetic may be used to minimize discomfort to the client.

Image via WikipediaDiscount Botox from Canada has become very popular as physicians operating laser treatment centers, dermatology clinics, medical spas and laser clinics in both Canada and America want to offer more value to patients at a lower cost.So what’s the reason for this influx of discount Botox from Canada? Retail Botox is expensive. Wholesale Botox from Canada is only about 40% of the cost of Botox purchases made through American pharmacies. So, let’s take a look at what Botox is, how Botox works, and why it’s a favorite treatment in medical spas, skin clinics, and laser treatment clinics around the world. So, what is Botox?Botox is the name of a specific toxin produced by the bacterium “Clostridium botulinum”. In large amounts, this toxin can cause botulism, which causes food poisoning. Despite the fact that one of the most serious complications of botulism is paralysis, scientists have discovered a way to use it to treat wrinkles among other things.

    Laser Treatment For Hair Removal

    [/caption]

Laser Treatment For Hair RemovalGenerally, most cosmetic laser treatments technically operate the same way when performing a hair removal treatment. The parameters on the aesthetic laser or IPL (joules, milliseconds, pulse, etc.) should be set according to the skin analysis and history performed on the patient. The patient should be instructed to refrain from using any body washes, lotions, cosmetics, or any skin medications the day of the treatment. Instruct clients not to wear dark clothing near the area to be treated as the pigment in the clothing could potentially be absorbed by the IPL or cosmetic laser. Some patients may prefer to have a topical anesthetic applied prior to the procedure. If any residue of the anesthetic remains, it should be wiped clean from the skin. In most situations, a cooling gel or other cooling apparatus is applied to the skin.

Image via Wikipedia Laser treatments are typically performed by a doctor-supervised esthetician. While devices used for skin tightening do vary in method, they all expect to achieve similar results. These procedures usually are performed in monthly treatments and results can be seen gradually over several months. Since the improvement is gradual, it is recommended that a patient takes “before” photos of the targeted treatment area(s) before the procedure, and each month thereafter with a final results photo taken one month after the last treatment. This photo journal can help show the patient their improvements.Devices Used for Skin TighteningThe source of energy used to produce thermal damage can be either radio waves, infrared light, lower wavelength laser or any combination of the three. The intention is to stimulate increased collagen production.Light wavelengths, specifically in the infrared spectrum, are successfully used to promote tightening of the skin by heating the dermis.
